Camp near Fredricksburgh
Dear, Mother
We are still at the old camp & both well there is some prospect of a movement, soon but where I cannot say, our cavelry are out in a - - - - now with some fighting artillery they have had a fight with the Rebs to day but to what extent I cannot say as we have heard cannon all day long. we shall hear in a day or two as soon as I learn I will write again. as soon as we move I will inform you. I have nothing new to write so I must be brief. Give my love to all & I Remain

Dear Sister,
Again I improv this oportunity of writing to you Franklin is well again & I cannot say whether he will be able to get a furlow or not but if it is possible he will have one If he is obliged to go on with I shall take the best of care of him & do all I can to make him comfortable I prsum we shall leave here soon but where I cannot say probably down the River.
