Camp at Centerville June 18th 1863
Dear Mother
I received your kind letter last evening. Well also one from Julia and one from Chas Sinsley Ozias and myself wrote you day befire yesterday while encamped uppon Bull Run Battle field last evening we marched to here at Centerville how long we shall stay here I cannot tell but are liable to march at any moment. Thare are no apprehensions of a fight very soon we received news last night that the Rebbels wer marching in Harrisburge Pa We are both of us well the army are in good spirits generaly. all are anxious to aid in pruning the Rebs. I shall write to Mr. Sinsley soon. And will send his letter with mine in the next I write. I shall answer Julia’s as soon as posible. never fear I will write every opportunity. The Chaplain is my own in_____ to me sending and getting of the mail for us. give my love to all this from your affectionate son
