Dear, Father & Mother
Yours came safe to hand & I hasten to answer. My health has not been very good for a few days past but think I shall be all right again soon I do not think that we shall leave here for some time yet but cannot till we are under orders to be ready to move at a moments notice. I have no news. The Army of the Potomac is now ready to try them again & I think strong enough too I have been confined to the shanty for a day or two past but feel better today I will write again soon & write a long letter when I feel more like it My love to all & I remain your
