Dear Father
I received your letter yesterday morn—went to Coz. Wm's boarding house, and learnt that he had written to Prof. Dwight that he would be here Sat. (this week) or Monday. I have written to him to day that you would like to have him preach for you, and shall hear from or see him Monday. He is in North Cornwall at present. There are a plenty of young, incipient, if not insipid, preachers about here, who are glad enough to preach for $10.00 per diem, and I have no doubt I could get one to accomodate you on the terms / proposed, So that you will be safe enough to write Lucy that you will come, and I will have a minister on hand by Sat. night with out fail—I should think, as Lucy would wait till next month & have her boy baptized in Norwich—
We are in the midst of Biennial, that is, have been in once; on Rhetoric. I did better than any Rec. this term. Tomorrow we have Freshman Latin. I think I shall stay to Commencement this year, as the Pres. of Limonia has been suspended, and there will be all the more need of workers—Am well & busy—Will write as soon as Coz William gives his answer. With love to all
Y'r aff son Charles—
