Beloved Mother Brother and Sister
I this pleasant sabath morning have taken my paper and pencil in hand and gone to a grove near by to write you a few lines hopeing that through Gods great goodness and mercy they may find you all well and hope that while i am writing this letter you are enjoying a precious sermon of Gods truths in that oald church where we all used to meet togather and sing and pray. But now we are separated far apart and for what. for this wicked Rebelion. but if we are separated that need not stop us from lifting our hearts to him in prayer or reading his blessed word. I feel now as if i wanted to be at home to day than usual this morning when i got up evry thing was so still and and quiet that the first thing that entered my mind was how i would like to be at home to day and go to meeting with you, but i could not and so i put my trust in him hopeing that we may be permited to meet again on earth and all be peace and harmony. but if he choses that one or more of us shall leave this world i hope that we may meet in heaven. Emma i was glad to hear from you and hope that you will live a faithfull folower. well the drums and horn are ratling for diner and i must / stop and go to rool call and diner.

Well i have had my dinner and i will tell you what i had. As this is Ester i thought i must have some eggs. so yesterday i bought 6 goose eggs for 20cts and fryed two of them and had light bread butter Apple butter and tea. that made a good dinner. hen eggs sell for 25cts per dozen and butter 40cts per lb. Green apples the size of an egg 3 for a dime. I received the box you sent me on the 31st of Mar all of the things kept well except one bottle of horse radish it broke. you know i never used to like onions at home but now i can eat them by the peck roasted or in hash. If jeffrys send ben a box you may send me a few things but you need not without he does. We have lost our Orderly he died Mar 31st and was sent home. his loss is regeted very much by all. I got Miltons letter on the 30th and have looked for one from you for two or three days to let me know about that mony but it has not come. It is almost two oclock that is preaching time so i must stop and get ready for i have not much more to write anyhow. your son and Brother.
W H Bone.
