My Dear Mama
I received your letter quiet some time ago and received Llewellyn's last letter last evening, was very glad to hear from home, but very sorry to hear that you were sick. I hope you will be decidely better when you get this letter. I am very well at present and hope to be with you soon. I expect to come home in about a week or so will write again next Sunday and let you know what day for Papa to come after me. I suppose Uncle Finn was at our house yesterday, he stoped here and ask me when I was coming home, I told him week after next, so I suppose he has told you. Where is Katie she hasent written, I should think she would have written a few lines in with Llewellyn letter. I think he write's a very nice letter. I intend to write a few lines to him and enclose it in with this letter. I hope you will soon get better, and be abel to get a round. I thought last Sunday you had a very bad / cold, and thought when I first saw you, that you had been sick. take good care of your self and take plenty of medicine. I suppose Katie is helping you with the housekeeping. well I am quite anxious to get home for a little while now, and make up your dress & finish up Katie's, &ct & make over my dress. I only wish I could have two dollars, (and wish you could send it over to me before I come home, because I would like to get some thing's, before I come home. it is only a few notions such as I want, so thread's and I want to get 2 yards of some kind of good's to make up with my dress when I come home, and you know, what little nescesary things. and I want to buy a large Metropolitan fashion book, and a nother little one. Well I am very sorry to hear that Mrs Dock is dead, and what will become of all of her little children. write and tell me when she was buried, poor little woman she has suffered very much. I will never forget how bad she looked that day I saw her last, and I shook hand's with her and bid her good bye. it is very sad for the / family. you tell Mrs Riernhold's to excuse me for not writing, but I will soon be home now, and will go over and see her, perhaps I will write to her before I come home. give my love to her when you see her & M R to. Aunt Mary was over here yesterday, and she went to Trenton to pay a note in the bank, (for a horse that sorrel, I suppose). I went out to church this morning, to the second Presbyterian, and heard an excellent sermon, and last Friday afternoon Jamie Applegate & her motherinlaw and I went through the museum's, and I saw most evry thing immaginable. I want to take you some time and show you through I was telling Aunt Mary yesterday, and she want's me to take her next Wednesday, and show her. I just wish you could see through it Well I must hurry as I want to get ready and take a walk out. I guess I will go to church to night, go with Janie. if Papa cant let me have two dollars / why I can get a long with one maby. well I am very well at present & hope this will find you all the same. write some time next week and let me know how thing's prosper's—Give my love to all, and tell Kate to write a few lines. I was very much pleased to get a letter from you, and I think you can write a very nice letter.
