My Brother I now sit down once more with my pen in hand to let you know that I am well at present and I hope hope that these few lines will find you the same
I received your letter day before yesterday and I was glad to here that you was well Newyears day we did not have a very good time here they keep it same as any other day we have not seen any snow here yit there has been a little just enough to see it we did not have / any battle Old England dare not sit in but let her set in if she wants to we will whip them both to time what regiment is Wesley in and what Company I have not been weighed in two monts so Good By this from

Deare Cousen I take my pen in hand to let you know that I am well at present and I hope these few lines will find you the same I received your letter dabefore yesterday and I was glad to hear that you was well I wish I was there this winter to go to school and grone for him to pray with his name that word you spoke for Porter was eligant indeed it was I shold thought that he would been ashamed of it I think that he is mean for not saying something about you you say that you do not now whither Wesley will come out here or not I hope that he will come out here you say that the Colonel has gone to see how do you spell Colonel you spelt it Curnel there is not no snow here and have not been any yit it spit a very little snow this evening
