Jeanette Buckner (maiden name: Davis) was born around 1854 in Kentucky to George and Jeanette (Bucklin) Davis. Her father was a prominent merchant and the president of the Fourth National Bank. She married a Gabriel Lewis Buckner on October 10, 1888. Following her husband's death on October 21, 1896, Buckner began receiving a pension of $12 a month, beginning on May 9, 1908. At some point, Buckner's pension transferred from Louisville to Boston, Massachusetts. According to the 1910 census, she was then living at the home of her brother-in-law George W. Kittredge in Yonkers, New York. By May 23, 1928 her pension had increased to $40 a month. She died March 31, 1933, in Yonkers. Buckner is buried alongside her husband in Louisville.
