Sarah Margaret Caldwell (maiden name: Frame) was born to Thomas T. and Miriam Frame in Kentucky in 1842. After the death of her father in 1861, she lived with a relative of her mother, Susan Catlett, in Jefferson, Missouri, with her three younger brothers. On April 24, 1865, she married Isaac Philips Caldwell in Buchanan, Missouri. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Albany, Missouri. They had three children: Miriam C., born about 1867; Jennie R., born about 1870; and James, born about 1876. By 1880, the couple had moved to Laramie, Wyoming. The family moved to Denver, Colorado, sometime before 1900. She died in 1930.
