Lucretia Doan

Lucretia Doan (maiden name: Lucretia E. Van Bibber) was born on December 9, 1840, to George Lindenberger and Hannah Catherine (Archer) Van Bibber in Baltimore, Maryland. From 1858-1859, she attended the Patapsco Female Institute in Baltimore, which was run by her uncle, Robert H. Archer. She married Frank Macnamara Doan as his first wife on October 11, 1865, in Baltimore, Maryland. Together they had a son: J. Parker Doan, born on October 13, 1866. Lucretia died at the Battle Creek Sanitarium in Battle Creek, Michigan, on September 12, 1910, of acute nephritis, commonly known at the time as Bright's disease. She is buried in Jacksonville, Illinois, in the Diamond Grove Cemetery.
