Isabella Jerdone Farrar

Isabella Jerdone Farrar (maiden name: Mitchell) was born on May 5, 1835, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On June 14, 1855, she married Bernard Gaines Farrar Jr. at the Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. They had four children: Anne Clark Thruston, born in 1856; Alexander Mitchell, born in 1859; Bernard or “Bertie” Cecil, born in 1864; and Frank Jerdone, born and died in 1865.  The family eventually moved to St. Louis, Missouri. After a period of illness, Isabella died of angina pectoris on April 2, 1916, in St. Louis. She is buried in an underground family tomb in Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis alongside her husband, who died two months later.
