Mary Landes

Mary Landes (maiden name: Mary McDowell Carter) was born around 1840 in Columbus, Ohio. She married Joseph Isaac Landes on April 27, 1865, in Franklin County, Ohio, with whom she adopted a child, Anna Margaret Kelly, the orphaned daughter of her sister. She did not receive a pension following her husband’s death in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, on December 1, 1907. She died January 1, 1915, and is buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville.
