Jenny Curry

Jenny Curry (maiden name: Jenny Burris Smith) was born on July 20, 1837, in Fauquier County, Virginia, to Charles Burris Smith and Louisa Ann Darnell. Her father owned at least 13 slaves, and he died around 1840. The family eventually moved to Missouri, and Jenny married William A. Curry in Fayette on November 12, 1857. They had at least 6 children together: Martha, born January 6, 1859; Charles Smith, born November 1, 1862; William Adams, born July 20, 1864; Jenny, born around 1869; Mary Royall, born around September 12, 1870; and Louisa, born around 1872. The family lived in Jefferson City, and Jenny died there on March 13, 1874.
