Mary L. Conrad

Mary L. Conrad (maiden name: Lowther) was born around 1816 in Pennsylvania. She married Louis L. Conrad sometime in the 1840s, and they had at least four children together: Louis W., born around 1848; John Merle, born around 1850; Charles, born around 1852; and Mary, born around 1856. In 1852, the family settled in Manchester, a community near Pittsburgh, where Louis served as a Presbyterian minister. Louis died in November 1867, leaving most of his money and possessions to Mary. By 1870, she owned about $10,000 in real estate and $1,000 in personal property. She died in Pennsylvania around November 1875.
