Priscilla Moulton Woodward
Priscilla Moulton Woodward was born on September 2, 1848, in York, Maine, to George W. Woodward and Tamara Denison. Her father was a farmer who owned $1,500 of real estate and $328 of personal property in 1860. Priscilla grew up and attended school in York. Her mother died in June 1863, and her father followed in January 1870. By 1870, she was living with her brother John in York and working in a factory. She never married, and by 1900, she was working as a servant in the household of George and Julia Grant in York. She began suffering from liver cancer around 1911, and she died of heart disease in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on March 4, 1914.
