Mary Ann Neville (maiden name: Atkinson) was born on May 17, 1832, in New Brunswick, Canada, to Robert and Eliza Atkinson. She eventually immigrated to Ohio, and she married Robert Neville on November 30, 1855. They had at least five children: Eva, born around 1860; Everet, born around 1868; Ora, born around 1871; Luella, born around 1876; and Alice, born around 1877. They lived in Mayfield, Ohio, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1860, they owned $1,840 of real estate and $250 of personal property. Her husband served in the Union army from 1862 until 1865. She died of heart disease in Mayfield on October 18, 1899.
