Calvin Winfield Lewis
Calvin Winfield Lewis was born around October 1846 in Conway, New Hampshire, to Jacob and Abigail Lewis. His father was a farmer who owned $1,500 of real estate and $600 of personal property by 1860. Lewis grew up and attended school in Conway, New Hampshire, and he attended Dartmouth College in the late 1860s. He married Sarah Vernon on January 10, 1877. They lived in Boston, Massachusetts, and Lewis worked as a reporter and real estate agent. They employed at least one Black servant. He died sometime after 1910.
