Dear Father & Mother
                                    I now take my pen in hand once more to write you a few lines to let you know that I am well & hope these few lines will find you the same
 
Henery Hemmenway got back here the 13 he gave me the 5 Dollers of money & the letter & pictures you sent to me we started to move that same night about 9 o clock & marched till bout 3 o clock in the morning we layed still a Sunday & / at night we started again on & marched all night long & the next day we marched of som 22 miles we stoped over night we started earley yestday morning again & marched to here we passed by the 14 Vt Reg they ar over 3 miles from here we ar about 8 miles from the 16 Reg quite a number of them have been up here to see us I havent seen but one fellow that I knew his name was Pebody he came out in our Co he got his discharge just after we left Camp Griffin he came out in the 16 he is first Lieut in Co C
 
we have had a long hard march & it is awful warm here we are all prety tired we expect to take the cars here to night & go to Washington & from thear up towards harpers Fary way
