the boys from the 6 keep a coming in thear hasnt eny of the Ludlow boys been here yet I would like to see some of them if it was not quite so far I would go thear but I am to tired Maty Clark is ordley Sergt in Co C Harey Fletcher is in that Co & a number other Ludlow boys I got the pepper you sent me I want you to send me some more it is a good thing to take on a march we drink a good deal of it keep from hurting us we have to be carefull I think mother picture looks quite natural I think Father has grown old some he looked so he felt bad about something keep up good cheer for that is the way I do for the time will soon pass a way & we met a gain you say you have sold your / Horse tell me who you sold him to in your next I havent wrote to Henry I dont think he will get your letters if he was to the Hospital I will wate a while till you write a gain I havent received eny letter from him eath
 
I will get my picture taken as soon as I can get a chance & send to you I am glad of yours I cannot think of much more to write this time I will send you a Secesh letter that I found in a wrifle pit I will close for this time so good bye for this time write soon & all the news you can think of my respects to all that may inquire after me so good bye for this time from your son
