January the 5 1862

 

my Dear brother and Sister I take my pen in hand to answer your very kinde letter we recieved it yestrday and was glad to hear from you we air all well with the exception of bad Coldes I hav had the worst Cold I ever had in my life but I it is beter well Sarah I would like to see you and will and your little girl the best in the world but I never expect to see you till you come and if you never com come I never expect to see you for it is to far from home well Sarah I must tell you Somthing about my little girl and boy they air the worst little eggs you ever saw razy is the worst baby you ever saw he is quite a little baby he is agoing on 4 years old and I expect he will bea the baby for the next 4 to come and I hope forever well Sarah bill was here a new years Day and they was all well and Sol is agoing to take bills letter to him to marrow if it ante to Cold well Sarah I have bin at paps once Since Sol come home and I donte now when I will go again for pap and mother never comes to see us they do no more at preasent /

well Sarah Duck has rote all she kows and alittle more and I dont know much else to rite well sarah I must finish this somehow tell Juile and that brother in law of ours to rite us we rote Jim and Julia a letter a christmas day I have never saw James since we come home I saw martin twice well I have ritin all I know at this time so I must quit for this time

 

tell Shishacer to rite me a letter so nothing more only to re remain your brother in law untill death
