tis morning 8 oclock the weather is warm and beautiful for this season of the year we are campt in or near the forrest O what beautiful scenes these mountain sides present / but other climes have charmes far sweeter. (O sing to me of heaven…) now dear family while thinking of happyness and comfort pleas think of Jesus and his mercies to us yes i no you do but i feel as though / i could be so much pleased to see all of our children in the service of the lord. i could talk so much better than i can write, that is easer i will patiently wate untill we see each other then o then we will be happy…J.G.S… 
 
Philander i have some nice little books for you and sisters i will bring them home to you (poor carlo) well i will have a nice Newfoundland dog one that is a dog thats so  if i yes if i live and i think i will to share your comfort and sorrow…
