John G. Scoville to Ruth C. Scoville et al., undated
this earth with all its glitering will pleas but for a short moment, but eternal pleasures are found in heaven and by Jesus given there we will meet our dear friends to never never part and hear the angels singing sweet anthems of love forever yes, yes

O come and we will go whare pleasure never dies, may god help us to serve him better and give us grace for our day and trial. O these lonesome hours, would to god i had been a different man years a go yes years that have pased away un improved and caused so much unhappyness, / O how i long to be with you i can allmost hear the sweet birds singing there in that beautiful old loved Montgomery forrest in whare i spent my youthful days. well maby we will spend our declineing years pleasently and happy on the banks of some beautiful river, or fertile prarie whare the wildflours are scatered ore the plane and we will have some in near our little cottage dore but the sweetest flours will be with in.
