Dear wife children and friends i am well hopeing you the same to you but my sibby O my darling i will come home as soon as i can but if the angels calls you away before i come home i will see you in heaven. (do not cry sweet girl for pa but try to get well Mother will take good care of you and so will Philander yes so will Prinny O if i was only there maby you had better have a doctor do call one O i wish to see all together once more on earth and then i am readey to leave this vain world of sorrow put your trust in him who hast kept you from the early dawn of existance he alone can raise the sick if it is his will but we must be resined to our fate write often and i will get some of them i will get all that comes to camp the clothing that i send is not verry good but it will come in good place if I get there to ware it and i think that is the will of god for me to return unharmed to my dear family my prair is that it may [faded] be so before long. the lonely days nites the [faded] moments that i have spent from you unhappy some times i seam to injoy life and its peasures but O there is a lonelyness of company but i must close.
