well i am well i will send some some poetry to you it is magnifficent I have been washing and drilling this forenoon, so I will write and drill and mend close, this afternoon. well to morrow is cristmas day i would lik to eat my dinner in Ohio but many milds divide that land from this desolate state of misery—Mosoura but mise but we poor insignificant soldiers can act up a dinner of our own. our tent mess contains some non commishing officer so we live at the head of the heap
well a soldiers life is a hard life a life of activity but i like it better and better i love our glorous land of libberty i love the sons of freedom i love to help mantain our lovely banner. yet i can load and shoot with all the deliberation in the world so spaking if i know i am in the rite let glorous ball roll on let the cannons speak glorous news to sons of freed let our muskets tell home to love love ones ther that we are sons of liberty, yes Mosurais free thanks to god let its freedom ring ore hill and dale and glen / while i am soldier i want to do my part yes my part i am lerning verry fast now at first i did not give half the attension that i aut to have done but i am working hard now to lern as fast as i can

I must write some on some other subject, yes to wife and little children dear loved ones at home yes at home the dearist of all spots on the green globe the home of child hood and youth when pleasures of bliss and sunshine filed our minds and all nature semed to bloom Ruth / i cannot dout that you will be kind to those dear children O that i had don twis no thrice more for them, but it as it is maby i will live to do something for them yet. O that i was with them now but the gooness of god has has otherwis directed our lives. Laura write to me, Priny you must tel lol som thing to write, Sibby, you must tel Mother some thing to write, toty you dear sweet chub you must kiss Mother for me,
