Much loved family. we came hear yesterday from tiptton 4 companys of us to gard the place that is our biseness to go from town to town to gard our commisary stores of rations and to see that rebbels do not intrude on our rites
this is Sunday morning cold and windy our stove is small 16 or 18 men around it tho we will have more room for some is sick and bording out, but enough of / complaining because i know that you have hard times at home, home, sweet home—the dearrest of all is a happy home Ruth i cannot see you for a while well i cannot write more now for for i must eat dinner and then at 3 i am detailed to as an escort to the grave of a soldier
Monday morning 3 feb
I am well yes verry well for which i am thankful i get sick i will go to the country / at some union house O how i wish this war was over so i could go home and with my dear family a few years longer and try to do them some good and then my spirit to God to injoy the sweet sceins of glory yes to be with the angels
of heaven no more

in a hurry to eat
