Robert George Crump
Robert George Crump was born around 1830 in Georgia. He married a woman named Artemesia, and they had at least eight children: Thomas, born around 1846; William, born around 1848; Riley, born around 1850; John, born around 1855; James, born around 1857; Mary, born around 1858; Robert, born around 1860; and Colvin, born around 1863. They lived in Franklin County, Georgia, and Crump worked as a farmer. By 1850, he owned $800 of real estate. They moved to Banks County, Georgia, in the 1850s, and by 1860, he owned $1,500 of real estate and $200 of personal property.
 
He enlisted in the Confederate army on March 4, 1862, and he mustered in as a private in Company D of the 43rd Georgia Infantry. The regiment took part in the Vicksburg campaign. He surrendered as part of the Vicksburg, Mississippi, garrison on July 4, 1863, and he received a parole on July 16. It is unclear if he ever returned to duty. He died sometime in the 1860s.
