Elizabeth Wiley (maiden name: Dewitt) was born on May 9, 1797, in Milford, Connecticut. She married Edwin Wiley on October 7, 1817, and they had at least three children: Elizabeth, born on August 24, 1821; William, born around 1827; and Mary, born around 1831. They lived in Hancock County, Georgia, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1850, they owned $8,000 of real estate. A decade later, they owned $5,000 of real estate and $11,650 of personal property. She died on April 7, 1865.
