Dear Father:
The members of your family who left you Monday evening, arrived here on time the next (Tuesday) morning. We found the cousins well and aparently glad to see us. Mother had the headache yesterday, or she would have written. She is better today, and I believe will add a word to this. I leave for New Haven this afternoon, and for Norwich Friday morning. Took dinner with Jonathan Lamman to-day. Great excitement here. Frank sailed yesterday noon. All well & send love

Truly yr aff son
Chas /

My dear Hubon—Charlie has just left us & it is still & quiet. I have only time before dinner to write a few lines. We have had a very heavy thunder shower this afternoon which made it so dark in the basement I could not see to do anything. My headach continued untill this morning I am better but not quite right yet—Cousin Juliet & the girls all hope you will come down this week & spend the Sabbath here & go to Elisabeth next week. Mary wants you should hear Mr Duryea who preaches in the Dutch Church. You will remember he was from Troy. Mr Goldsmiths minister. I hope this hard shower has not reached Norwich on account of the paint on our house. I was very sorry not to see Frank. I suppose you received a letter from him yesterday / as the girls said he had written you. I shall hope to hear from you tomorrow & to see you Saturday

with much love
Your affectionate Wife

Dear Sallie—your triming could not be done untill tomorrow morning Thursday we will send it by express tomorrow night & you can get it Friday morning.
 in haste Mother
