Description
A 3-story 90-unit building. Each unit had a small kitchen and exterior balconies, as shown in a 1961 postcard.
Detailed History
The Island Lumber Company constructed the hotel in 1960. The individual units were sold to owners as a co-operative building, but it was operated as a hotel. After 1962, the units became rental rather than privately-owned. The Island Lumber Company built several Ebbtide hotels, and this one on Ala Moana Street was the second in the chain to be built.
