Description
Shown on Sheet 186 of the 1914-1951 Sanborn Insurance Company Maps, the Alhambra Restaurant took up both 1520 and 1522 next door. The buildings were each three stories tall and both had several two-story rear additions. There was also another address at 600 Smithson Street which was reached likely through a second story entrance.
Detailed History
Spelled as Alhabra in 1940, but Alhambra starting in 1947. Listed in the 1940 Baltimore C&P Telephone Directory as Alhambra Grill rather than a tavern.
