Detailed History
The Blue Jay Motel was constructed by Arthur Farrar after he sold property to the Maryland State Roads Commission to construct a new alignment of US 301 on the north side of Waldorf. In later years, Farrar increased the motel with a two-story addition on the southwest side of the main building.
