Description

The Blue Lantern Restaurant at 484 Clarissa Street was a combined single- and two-story dwelling, with a wraparound porch added to the building’s rear, on the northern side of the property facing Edinburgh Street. The single-story dwelling had a wooden frame construction, with a composition roof. The two-story dwelling had a non-combustible roof of tile or metal.  The wraparound porch had a shingle roof. Today, the Blue Lantern no longer exists. It was likely destroyed during Rochester’s urban revitalization projects in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Note that most of the streets in this area have been renamed, and addresses renumbered. Today, the current location is a residential neighborhood, and is likely where 227 Edinburgh Street is located.
