Detailed History

The Bridgeport Motor Inn was constructed in 1958 just off the Kings Highway/US-1 exit for the newly built Greenwich-Killingly Expressway, now I-95. Extensively altered inside and out since 2004, today it is a Best Western motel, recognizable only by its footprint and massing. Though it is technically located in Fairfield, just south of the town line, the Bridgeport address was likely considered more recognizable to travelers from out of state.
