Description
The 1957 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map identifies 143 Harrison Street as a colored restaurant of frame construction. The front/west portion of the building is two story with a noncombustible roof. The rear/east portion is one story with a composition roof. The building has a small one-story front porch with a noncombustible roof. There are several stores and businesses to either side of this building. Unlike today, this was apparently a very vibrant part of town.
