Description

Site is currently occupied by the Sunrise Storage Facility. Based on a newspaper report from 1962, the location of the motel was once marked by a large neon sign on Sunrise Highway.

Detailed History

Through research done in 2023, the Sunrise Storage Facility, which currently occupies the space, was found to have been built around 2004. The motel was most likely demolished before 2001. Newsday clippings from 1962 advertise the motel and list a Mrs. Edith Speingethal as the proprietor. Notable ammenities from the motel advertisements include landscaped grounds, quiet rooms, private baths, radio, and T.V.
