Description
Dawn Tavern at 314 Clarissa Street was located in a storefront. The front of Dawn’s Tavern was one-story and of cement brick or concrete block construction, and the rear was a two-story brick building. The overall storefront had a non-combustible roof of tile or metal. On the northern side of the house, the cement brick or concrete block part of the storefront had windows on the first floor, while the brick part of the storefront had windows on both floors. Where were two additional windows on the eastern (rear) of the structure.
Detailed History
Today, the storefront at 314 Clarissa no longer exists. The land where the Dawn stood is now part of the First Church of God (344 Clarissa Street), which was built in 1970.
