Detailed History

Burrell Morgan and his brother S.B. owned many businesses in Christiansburg, including the Eureka Hotel, which was demolished in 1997. The Morgans also owned a store at 10 Depot Street that served as a grocery, restaurant, service station, barber shop, night club, and taxi stand. See the book "Christiansburg, Virginia: Small Town America at its Finest" by Roy Kanode for an article about the Morgan brothers. Thanks to Sherry Wyatt, Curator of the Montgomery Museum.

This was located on Depot Street, near North Franklin Street.

Note: The name of the town is spelled Christiansburg, but Green Book issues spell it Christianburg, missing the s in the center.
