901 Fifth Street was known as the Humbles Building. It is the last remaining Green Book site on Fifth Street.
Detailed History
According to lynchburgmuseum.org, James E. Johnson, who resided at 403 Monroe, was the proprietor of the Fifth Street Pharmacy. Dr. R. W. Johnson had offices in the second floor. The 1940 census does not list a James Johnson who works in a pharmacy or lives on Monroe Street.
