Detailed History

Nightclub operational only for a year or so, and much coverage in local newspapers about liquor license issues in that year. Described as a "negro-owned roadhouse" the club had two shows nightly, hosted several community groups including the local Democratic party organization and the American Legion, and sought (but was denied) permission to be open until 6 am to allow "breakfast dances". Hackensack Record, August 12, 1938.
