Description
Kern's Grill was located in a three-story building on the corner of Pratt and William. The first floor had a veneering of brick, and the building's roof was made of composite material. The height from the ground to the roof level was 31 feet according to a Sanborn map. The thickness of the walls was 12 inches. The building had window openings on its second and third story. It neighbored a vacant lot on Pratt and stores down William Street.
Detailed History
Kern's Grill was in a business district on the corner of William and Pratt. According to the Buffalo Criterion, Julius Siegel was the proprietor. Later, a man named Paul Drozen was listed as the licensee of Kern's Grill in a criminal case where he and three other tavern owners were accused of "pushing narcatics." The lot is currently empty.
