Detailed History
Louis Berkowitz ran Lou's Restaurant from 1946 to 1952. Mr. Berkowitz sold his restaurant to Raymond Siegel in 1953, who changed the name to the Potter Bar & Restaurant. The name comes from the neighboring street, Potter, which Buffalo renamed to Nash Street during the latter half of the twentieth century. The land is currently utilized as a parking lot, owned by the City of Buffalo.
