Description
The Jackson Ward Historic District National Register nomination describes the houses at 8 - 14 West Clay as four detached nearly identical Greek Revivial townhouses of pressed brick with stepped gables. Each unit had two stories, three bays, and raised basements. Numbers 10 - 14 have typical Greek Revival porches; both square box columns and fluted columns are employed. Number 14 was built in 1843. Numbers 8 - 12 were built in 1847. Now a parking lot for the Hood Temple AME.
