Known Name(s)

149 Adams St. Rochester, NY

Establishment Type(s)

Walker’s at 149 Adams Street was a two-story dwelling, with single story additions to the eastern and southern sides of the dwelling. The building had a wooden frame construction, with a non-combustible tile or metal roof, and an additional single story garage behind the dwelling. Today, Walker’s no longer exists. This property and the neighborhood around were destroyed and rebuilt during Rochester’s urban revitalization projects in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Note that most of the streets in this area have since been renamed, and addresses renumbered. The land where Wailker’s stood is now owned by the Mt. Oliviet Baptist Church (135-153 Adams Street).
