Description
2 story building with composition roof. 1 and 1/2 story dwelling in the back. On the east side of Jefferson Ave. between William and Peckham. According to the Buffalo Evening News the proprietor of the business was Mrs. Mae Baker. It was located on the same street as Anawath Sholem Synagogue, an undertaker, and a church. Jefferson Street is off William Street which had many Green Book sites including, Kern's Grill, Joe's Tavern and Bonita Beauty Parlor. Her shop was "opposite the Willert Park Projects" according to the Buffalo Criterion. Moved to 1246 Jefferson Avenue in 1955.
