Parker Carr was born around 1822 in Waterford, Vermont, to Benjamin Carr. He married Welthea Russell, and they had at least three children: Ella, born around 1853; Benjamin, born around 1855; and Josephine, born around 1859. They lived in Waterford, and Carr worked as a blacksmith. By 1850, he owned $1,400 of real estate. He moved to Thetford, Vermont, in the 1850s and then to Windsor, Vermont, in the 1860s. By 1870, he owned $500 of personal property. By 1880, he was living in his daughter Ella’s household in Amherst, Massachusetts. He died there of apoplexy on May 27, 1883.
