Margaret Davis (maiden name: Gwynn) was born around 1820 in Wales. She immigrated to America sometime before 1841 and settled in Pennsylvania. She married Noah Davis around 1840, and they had at least nine children: Samuel, born around 1841; Daniel, born around 1843; David, born around 1845; Henry, born around 1846; William, born around 1848; Mary, born around 1850; Sarah, born around 1853; John, born around 1855; and Hannah, born around 1857. They were living in Hanover, Pennsylvania, in 1850, and they moved to Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, sometime in the 1850s. Her husband worked as a blacksmith for the Crane Iron Works, and he died around 1859. Margaret remained in Catasauqua for the rest of her life, and she died there on August 31, 1881.
