Julia Almira Personius (maiden name: Voorhis) was born around 1817 in New York. She married William Personius, and they had at least five children: Walker, born around 1836; Charles, born around 1840; Daniel, born on June 25, 1847; Julia, born around 1854; and Harriet, born around 1859. They lived in Caroline, New York, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1850, they owned $4,000 of real estate. A decade later, they owned $4,380 of real estate and $900 of personal property, and by 1870, their wealth had grown to $10,000 of real estate and $1,500 of personal property. Her husband died on April 25, 1887, and she passed away on March 9, 1897.
